At Operation Shelter, we are committed to transforming lives by providing secure, stable homes for families hardest hit by devastation in Western North Carolina. Since day one, our dedicated team has been on the ground, working tirelessly to bring relief to those in need.

Our mission is simple yet profound: to offer families a fresh start by placing them in donated RVs, campers, and 5th wheels. These homes represent more than just shelter—they are a foundation for rebuilding lives, fostering stability, and igniting hope in the face of adversity.

Together, we can make a lasting impact. Join us in turning generosity into tangible change for those who need it most.

Our Story

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene's devastation in Western North Carolina, many residents faced significant challenges due to delayed governmental assistance. Reports indicate that FEMA's response was hindered by bureaucratic obstacles, leading to slow deployment of aid to the affected areas.

Amid these delays, individuals like Shawn Hendrix took matters into their own hands. Unable to find organizations to deliver supplies, Hendrix personally transported truckloads of essential goods to those in need. His actions exemplify the critical role of community-led initiatives in disaster response, especially when official channels are encumbered by red tape.

This situation underscores the importance of mutual aid and community solidarity. While governmental agencies play a vital role in disaster relief, the immediate support from neighbors and local volunteers often proves indispensable. By coming together, communities can bridge the gaps left by institutional delays, ensuring that those affected receive timely assistance.

In times of crisis, it's up to us to support one another, demonstrating resilience and compassion in the face of adversity.

Western North Carolina

Our Operation Shelter initiative came to be after Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina. A group of individuals with no affiliation came together to do good, and we brought them into our charity so we could take their hard work to the next level. Efforts are ongoing there, and we are proud to be entering the rebuilding phase of our efforts.

Kentucky

As soon as we heard about the flooding in Kentucky we were taken back to what we saw in the opening days of efforts in Western North Carolina. It's a traumatic thing for some of our team members who experienced it firsthand. We are actively looking into how we can start to help.
